It can also be used to manage heart failure: 5-15mg sublingually or 30-160mg in divided doses orally. It is also used intracoronary for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.
It is contraindicated in severe hypotension and anaemia and raised intracranial pressure.
It can cause hypotension, palpitation, confusion, nausea, vomiting, restlessness and vertigo.
