Toprol XR (generic -Metoprolol XR) - Sustained Release - is a beta blocker and is a beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocking agent. Dose should be adjusted in patients having failure. It is contraindicated, in 2nd or 3rd heart degree block.
